Highlands Ranch, CO(April 17, 2013) – TRS, is prepping for their 1,300 trip from Colorado out to Oregon Trail Rally where they will be debuting their B- Spec Toyota Yaris rally car . Tracey Gardiner, owner/driver at TagRallySport says, “I am excited to be running the car for the first time on the beautiful challenging roads in Oregon and to also have Krista Skucas, a local Portland native sitting in the codrivers seat with me.” Krista said, “ Portland is my home and OTR is my home event. It is going to be a fun challenge to be sitting with a new driver, charging the roads I have run 4 times in the past and being in the smallest rally car I have ever competed in! “ Krista is also excited to have family and friends there to cheer us on in the Jellybean! “I am stoked to be a part of the new Toyota Yaris build!”

Nameless Performance, in La Centre, WA, was excited when TAG asked them to bring the Yaris into the rally world. “The Yaris was a good candidate since it is small and nimble, affordable, and surprisingly roomy inside. This combination makes for a light chassis that should hold up well and allows for a robust roll cage that fits around drivers from small female drivers like Tracey Gardiner to giant male drivers such as Will Orders, “ says owner John Hoyenga. This was a “performance in a budget” build. “We chose to build with budget conscious but robust parts that allowed us to focus the budget on the parts that make the car competitive. We installed an NRG quick release steering wheel, affordable but strong G-Force harnesses, and entry level Sparco seats. Choosing to use these good but affordable parts allowed us the budget to go with custom fiberglass HID light pod, good roof scoop, custom aluminum front and mid chassis skid plates, and a world class rally suspension hand made by the Wizards over at MCA in Australia. Overall I am extremely happy with how the car turned out and I look forward to seeing the “Jellybean” in action on the varied roads at the Oregon Trail Rally.”

TRS will be attending the Rally America Fan Appreciation Day at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland, Thursday, May 2nd, 2013. “As much as I love being out on those gravel roads, I love meeting and talking to all the fans that come out to the events,” says Gardiner. “I love the looks on people’s faces and the positive feedback when they realize it is a woman driving the car! Just wait until they see the Jellybean!” jokes Tracey.“ “ I am extremely happy with the build and looking forward to the roads at Oregon this year and rallying in the Yaris,” said Gardiner.

Tag Rally Sport would like to welcome and thank three new sponsors, TTR Team Tiamat Racing, Caribou, Maine, Just Flappin Mudflaps, Commerce City, CO and Base Camp Brewing Co, http://basecampbrewingco.com.

2012 Open Light – Eastern Division Winner to take on more events in 2013

Providence, RI, Feb.10th 2013: Set in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and named after the storybook home of Winnie the Pooh, the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood has enough twists, turns and fast tight roads making it a favorite with both Drivers and spectators.

Speaking on the team’s plans for the year ahead, Owner/Driver Tracey Gardiner said, “We just completed Sno*Drift in January in Northern Michigan and we’re looking forward to the 2013 calendar. We intend to do this event as a warm up to the Eastern Division Events and from here we will decide what events to participate in nationally. Introducing a Toyota Yaris to the sport in the very near future will also be an exciting event for us”.
During the past few months, not only has the team commissioned the building of their Toyota but has also prepped the Subaru based on a change of drivers and preferred settings. Indeed, with just 10 days to go the car is still in preparation mode, but Rory is quietly confident that it will be race ready for Missouri. For his first outing in 2013, Rory will be partner again with Steve Harrell who sat in the co-driver seat with Rory last year, earning himself 1st place 2012 Open Light – Eastern – Co-Driver.

Rory’s plan is to settle in early and get a feel for the car in its latest set up and get Steve and himself gelling in the first stage. “Obviously it will be a tough class battle especially having 8 entries to date, but that only adds to the challenge” said Rory.

Additionally, the Rhode Island/Colorado based team is currently planning participation in an event in Ireland and hope to announce participation in a major event in Europe in 2014 in the near future.

TagRallySport to Run Toyota Yaris in 2013 American Rally Series.

Providence, RI (November 2nd 2012) Following a recent announcement that Toyota would make a comeback into the world of WRC Rally with the new and affordable Yaris R1A rally car, TagRallySport, the female owned Motorsport Company from Rhode Island is pleased to announce that they will be debuting a Toyota Yaris in the American 2013 series.
Tag Rally Sport owner Tracey Gardiner and Nameless Motorsport shook hands on a car build for 2013, both attending the SEMA show this week to discuss the details. Tracey is very confident that this partnership will be a good one.

“Jason and John are very passionate about what they do and have already prepared my Subaru after Olympus rally,” said Tracey. “After observing them during the 2012 series, and how well they took care of Summit Racing and Will Orders, a professional driver who had traveled from Australia for the Rally America series, I knew they have a love for the sport and was very impressed with their professionalism, attention to detail and knowledge of what is needed to keep a car running in a stage rally.”

Jason Griffith and John Hoyenga, owners of the performance fabrication and automation qualification company from Washington State are very excited about the prospects of building a rally car for Tracey for 2013.

TagRallySport choose to bring the Toyota Yaris to the 2013 series because of its appeal as an affordable but exciting car which makes rallying accessible to a whole range of participants. As a company dedicated to promoting the grassroots level of participation they believe bringing a car of this caliber to the sport will encourage teams to join at an entry level. They will also continue to run a Subaru in 2013.

According to Toyota, the Yaris R1A is going to be the first vehicle to obtain the FIA R1A homologation and this is expected to happen before the end of 2012. Once homologated, drivers will be able to compete in regional, national and international competitions, up to even WRC events.
